Salamandrina perspicillata laying eggs underwater, Italy

Breeding time: Spectacled salamanders!

This is the time of the year when big masses of Amphibians in Europe gather to mate and breed.

Savi’s spectacled salamanders (Salamandrina perspicillata) return to water to lay their eggs, after a terrestrial mating, so all those you’re seeing here are all females. The images has been shot inside my beloved Antola Regional Park that every year gives great satisfaction to everyone who wants to approach nature.
